Polyurethane Pipe
Insulation Foam (PIPE COVER) has been used to insulate
piping system which needs to keep inside low temperature
both for preventing surface condensation and for minimizing
heat gain. It is molded rigid polyurethane foam.
Why it has to be polyurethane
pipe insulation foam (PIPE COVER)
Low
Thermal Conductivity
Rigid polyurethane
foam has one of the lowest thermal conductivity ratings
of any insulation, which allows efficient retention of
heat or, alternatively, maintenance of a refrigerated
or frozen environment
Strength
Rigid polyurethane
foam provides a high level of compression and shear strength
but keeping light weight. This is because the volume of
polyurethane polymer in rigid polyurethane is around 3
per cent. The remaining 97 per cent of the foam is gas
trapped within the cell providing the low thermal conductivity
properties.
No
Water Absorption
The water vapor
permeability of rigid polyurethane foam is low. The closed
cell in foam gives excellent water resistance properties
despite the high moisture conditions which exist continually
in low temperature operations- conditions which can cause
bad insulation to absorb moisture and lose insulating
ability.
Fire
Properties
Rigid polyurethane
foams are usually used at lower thickness than other insulation
materials, with their heat or fuel contribution to a fire
is low compared to other, thicker ones.
